About Us
Do you think family life is important?
We do! In whatever form that family takes, at home or overseas, we care!

Our Meetings
We are a growing, lively Christian group, part of Bristol Diocese and the Kingswood and South Gloucestershire Deanery.
We are open to all, men and women and of any marital status. We are committed to the MU aims through prayer, fund raising and action.
Branch meetings are on the third Thursday of each month, 2:00 pm usually in St. Mary’s Church, Yate but see our diary for meetings in other locations. We have many other events so even if you couldn’t make the meetings you might still like to get involved.

Our History
Our founder, Mary Sumner, began the Mothers' Union in 1876. It was not until 1885 that MU began to expand beyond her husband's parish of Old Arlesford, near Winchester.
St. Mary's branch in Yate was started 30 years later in 1915, and celebrated our centenary in 2015.
The Mothers' Union is now a worldwide organisation with over 4 million members.
